Prag 1934. Fünf Kinder hören in ihrem selbstgebastelten Radio die Nachricht, daß der Eisbrecher "Tscheljuskin" im Packeis des Polarmeeres liegengeblieben ist. Spontan beschließen sie, die Schiffbrüchigen zu retten. Aber schon bald gerät ihre Expedition in eine Sackgasse. Ein sympathischer Film über den Idealismus der Kindheit, der durch seine ruhige Erzählweise allerdings konzentriertes Hinsehen voraussetzt.
EN. This children's adventure movie is a charming tale of a group of youngsters in Prague who hear that Soviet sailors abandoned their failing ship in the Arctic Sea before it went down, but no one had been able to find the sailors yet. Inspired by the efforts to save the men, the youngsters strike out on their own to help in the rescue attempt. One child is in charge of making the potato pancakes, one is in charge of the compass, and others all have their particular tasks to handle. Their progress toward the Arctic Sea is necessarily slow, whether by foot or cart or train, and they have to hole up in a relative's country cottage to spend their first night away from home. Meanwhile, worried parents have been to the authorities and a hunt is on for the children that parallels the hunt for the seamen. The children hear that they have been reported missing in the news on the radio, and they decide to turn back -- not because they have done anything wrong, but because they have to go through a dark tunnel to continue their journey -- and they are all afraid of the dark. Except for a bit of serious footage on the ship and sailors lost at sea -- which detracts from the focus of this story, the film is entertaining for adults and children alike.

The universally recognized topic of this light comedy is the struggle between refusing to fall in love only to be rejected, and falling in love, regardless. After a computer operator (Richard Bohringer) has been through a painful relationship, he is determined to look the other way every time any interesting woman enters his life. He has his other loves -- photography and model planes -- to challenge him anyway, though his mother is not about to understand how a model plane can replace a woman in his life. One day, a car breaks down in front of his house, and a young mother (Catherine Frot) with her 10-year-old daughter (Anne Clignet) come in looking for assistance. The daughter is endearing and would make a terrific subject for a photo contest. As both the young mother and the computer operator studiously ignore the flicker of romantic sparks, it is only a matter of time before the flame either grows or is extinguished.

Italian guests want him and his family moved to a different building, because his daughter took off her clothes on the beach and caused a scandal, even though she's only 8 years old. While they struggle with facism and intolerance as well as the decline of liberal European values, they encounter magician Cipolla, who fascinates and changes the lifes of several characters.

The fifteen year-old Maria "Mimmina" Luiza leaves the boarding school in Genève to stay in the Bechten Hotel nursing her father, the widower writer Guido, who is paralyzed by rheumatism. Along the days, Guido recovers from his illness and Mimmina has a crush on him and tries to seduce her own father. When her roommate and best friend Therese, who is eight years older than Mimmina, comes to the hotel to visit Mimmina, she has a love affair with Guido with tragic consequences.
Lara Wendel was only 13 during filming. In a 1979 interview at Italian magazine 'Oggi', she was asked if she was embarrassed doing her nude scenes, including the one where she masturbates in bed next to Franco Nero, who plays her father. "No, not at all. I often walk around the house naked even when my older brother is there." she said.

Jedynym przyjacielem osamotnionej i zagubionej Anki jest Rysiek, starszy kolega ze szkoły, który spędza z nią dużo czasu. Któregoś dnia dziewczynka przeżywa szok, gdy znajduje pijanego ojca w rowie. Kilkunastoletnia bohaterka, buntująca się przeciwko ojcu dla jego dobra, jest zmuszona reagować jak dorosła kobieta odpowiedzialna za życie innych osób.
EN. In an idyllic working class community, 13 year old Anka grows up, going through stages of adolescence, dreaming, first love and gossiping with girlfriends. Roughly disturbed by the shame and disgrace of alcoholism - leaves unwashable stains upon the community, that tries to cope with abuse and depression, and the system (including school teachers) who try to avoid the subject. This story was aimed at parents, to give them morally an insight into what happens when a young girl has to deal with the disgrace of an alcoholic father and a mentally instable mother. Very well acted by Grazyna Michalska as Anka.
